Sitting comfortably and lighting up the Marlowe TheatreDate: 3 May 2012Two campaigns to raise money for the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury have raised just under £140,000. Sponsor a Spotlight and Name a Seat donors were recently invited to a special series of tea parties in their honour where they were able to inspect the plaques on the backs of seats and see the newly-installed specialist lighting. Spotlight sponsors have had their names etched onto the Westgate window in the Swire Foyer. The theatre’s development manager Helena Barber feels that: "the tea parties were a great opportunity to put faces to names and to say a very personal thank-you with theatre colleagues to all these very special people". Comments from attendees indicate that their fund-raising efforts will continue. Related ContentBack to Southeast Homepage |
