Theatre West Present Picture This at The Alma Tavern

Date: 4 October 2011

Theatre West present … Picture This, an 11 week season of new plays at the Alma Tavern, Bristol from 28 September - 10 December 2011

In December 2010 Alison Comley, joint Artistic Director of Theatre West, travelled to Berlin and purchased 50 random black and white photographs not knowing who was in them nor how or when they were taken; photographs whose stories had been forgotten. She then challenged 45 of the South West’s best new writers to each create a script inspired by one of the pictures in her collection; to imagine a new story behind each image.

Theatre West is proud to present five brand new productions and 4 script-in-hand performances from nine of the South West’s most exciting writing prospects including Edson Burton (Children of Salt, 2010) and Steve Lambert (Showing The Monster, 2009) to be performed at the Alma Tavern over Theatre West’s 11 week season, Picture This.
