Acting for Others is Royal Theatrical Fund Motto

Date: 22 November 2010

The Royal Theatrical Fund, which is one of the country’s oldest show business charities, is holding its annual Christmas festival of music and readings at St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden – the actors’ church – on Tuesday 30 November beginning at 6.30pm. Lesley Garrett and Simon Williams head the list of performers which includes the Cavendish Singers under their conductor Manvinder Rattan.

Tickets cost £15.00 each and include mulled wine and mince pies after the concert which will end around 8pm. This is the latest in a series of fund-raising events which the Fund has held this year. The he Denham Village Fayre in May raised £2,500, a fashion show and luncheon in Amersham held in June raised over $6.400 and the October charity performance of Onassis raised over £4,000.

Three five-card packs, each of one design, of Christmas cards are available at £5.00 per pack. Two of the designs feature the Fund’s founder Charles Dickens. And, for the first time, there is also a calendar – A3 sized with pictures of and comments by past and present board members – for £9.99. The Royal Theatrical Fund’s address is 11 Garrick Street, London WC2E 9AR. The website is www.trtf.com. Cheques should be made payable to the Fund; debit or credit card payments can be made by telephone – 020 7836 3322.
