Stockport's Beanstalk Panto stars Sweeney & ShaneDate: 14 November 2011 With so many pantomimes to choose from, the Stockport Plaza has managed to gather a cast featuring stars from stage and your TV screens. Their version of Jack and the Beanstalk features Claire Sweeney and Paul Shane.
Sweeney has recently performed in Manchester as Paulette in Legally Blonde and the West End star who has performed alongside the late Patrick Swayze also stars in Candy Cabs for the BBC alongside Jodie Prenger. Here she appears as the oh so nasty Wicked Fairy Belladona. Whilst Shane known to millions as Ted Bovis from the much loved television comedy Hi De Hi joins her as the hilarious King Ethelred
Returning to the Plaza by popular demand from last years starring role in Peter Pan is Craig Perry as the hapless lad Jack Durden who sells poor old Daisy the Cow, climbs a beanstalk which conveniently grows in his back garden and goes to battle a really evil Giant….oh yes he does!
The show also features Pantomime Dame Steve Luck as Dame Durden and Jack and the Beanstalk runs at the Stockport Plaza from 9 December 2011 -8 January 2012.
