Plays Cast: Grandage's Privates, Arabian Nights, Old Money & Promise

Date: 2 November 2012

Full casting has been announced for Privates on Parade, the first production in the Michael Grandage Company's glittering West End season at the Noel Coward Theatre.

As previously announced, the production, which runs from 10 December 2012 (previews from 1 December) to 2 March 2013, will star Simon Russell Beale.

Joining him will be: Chris Chan (Lee), Sophiya Haque (Sylvia Morgan), Harry Hepple (Lance Corporal Charles Bishop), Mark Lewis Jones (Sergeant-Major Reg Drummond), John Marquez (Corporal Len Bonny), Brodie Ross (Leading Aircraftman Eric Young-Love), Sam Swainsbury (Flight-Sergeant Kevin Cartwright), Joseph Timms (Private Steven Flowers), Sadao Ueda (Cheng) and Angus Wright (Major Giles Flack).

Russell Beale plays the cross-dressing Captain Dennis whose performances of Marlene Dietrich, Vera Lynn and Carmen Miranda form the centrepiece of Peter Nichols' award-winning 1977 comedy set against the murderous backdrop of the Malaysian campaign at the end of the Second World War.

Michael Grandage directs Privates on Parade, which is followed at the Noel Coward by Peter and Alice starring Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw, The Cripple Of Inishmaan starring Daniel Radcliffe, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, featuring Sheridan Smith as Titania and David Walliams as Bottom, and Henry V starring Jude Law.

be warned online booking for so called £10 tickets for Michael Grandage productions incur booking fees of £2 per ticket. I spend about 3h to book 12 tickets so next time I will do it in person at the box office going through each an every date as one does to find the best tickets. How many tickets could they sell per day? Peole should be rewarded for online booking instead of punish and it has to be mandatory to declare all fees upfront like with airlines. No issues with paying £12 like for travelex but disgiusing it needs to stop! Lame excuse on zwitter, "third party costs" ... - Elisabeth
