Mamma Mia! gala performance supports Children in Need

Date: 22 August 2012

Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia! will hold a gala performance in support of Children in Need shortly after its relocation to the Novello Theatre.

The performance, which takes place on 12 September, will feature guest appearances from BBC Radio personalities Vanessa Feltz, Anneka Rice and Penny Smith. Stalwart Children in Need TV Host Terry Wogan is also tipped for the guestlist in what promises to be a "celebrity-packed" audience.

The gala show will feature one of the final performances of Sally Ann Triplett in the role of Donna before she leaves to star in Viva Forever! as Lauren, the mother of main character Viva (Hannah John-Kamen). She will be succeeded by the return of previous Donna Helen Hobson from 24 September 2012.

Mamma Mia!, which features hit songs by 70s pop favourites Abba, also stars Joanna Monro as Rosie, Kim Ismay as Tanya, Gary Milner as Sam Carmichael and Neil Roberts as Harry Bright.

The Children in Need tie-in performance comes shortly after the announcement that a host of pop stars, including Alexandra Burke, Blue and Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, will join casts onstage to sing for one-off performances of musicals including Singin' in the Rain on 25 October 2012, Les Miserables and Jersey Boys in aid of Children in Need, with 50% of the ticket price going directly to the charity.
