Live Tweeting: WOS at @westendproducer's #searchforatwitterstar

Date: 9 July 2012

Tonight (9 July 2012) we'll be live tweeting from @westendproducer's Search for a Twitter Star at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue.

The anonymous tweeter and impresario has whittled down the 600 online entries to a final ten hopefuls, who will compete and be voted for via tweeting audience members in real-time. Winners are battling for the chance to perform as leading men/ladies in a West End show.

Judging the performances alongside the tweeting audience will be Wicked star Louise Dearman, West End musical director Mike Dixon, agent Gemma Lowy-Hamilton and casting director Anne Vosser.

Adding to the hype surrounding the performance, which allegedly received annoymous support from all over Theatreland, @westendproducer said: "This is a very serious talent search - to find genuine and new theatre talent, It will also be a marvellous evening, and a world-first; an entire tweeting show. I'll drink to that! #dear”

Check out tweets from deputy editor Kieran Corcoran, below, from 6.45pm and get involved by tweeting @Whatsonstage during the performance.
