Idina Menzel announces date at Edinburgh's Usher Hall

The most famous Wicked Witch in the West End is due to bring the house down in Edinburgh as part of her UK tour.

Idina Menzel, the Tony Award winning star of Stephen Schwartz's spellbinding hit, Wicked, will play at the capital's Usher Hall on 16th October for one night only. Backed by a 25-piece orchestra, Menzel will perform the musical theatre songs that made her famous and new material from her solo work.

This is the first time that the RENT star will perform in the UK outside of London, and is said to be delighted to bring her critically acclaimed tour to fans in Edinburgh and Manchester. Tickets are available from the singer's website, as well as from the box office.

Menzel is also known for her film and television work, having recently appeared Glee as the estranged mother of Rachel Berry, as well as Disney's Enchanted. Her next film project will be opposite Kirsten Bell in Disney's latest animated feature, Frozen.

She will play the West End's Apollo Theatre for one week only from Monday 8th October and end the UK tour with a one night engagement in Manchester on October 17th. She comes to the UK directly from a sold-out tour in the US.
