Lara Pulver joins Allam, Kirwan & West in Chichester Vanya

Date: 9 March 2012

Lara Pulver has joined the cast of the forthcoming Chichester Festival revival of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, according to the Daily Mail.

Pulver, whose stage credits include the Donmar's Parade and recently made a splash in the BBC's Sherlock, joins a cast led by Roger Allam, Dervla Kirwan and Timothy West.

Uncle Vanya, which is directed by Jeremy Herrin, kicks off Chichester's 50th anniversary season in the Minerva Theatre, where it runs from 30 March to 28 April 2012. The play was part of Chichester’s very first season in 1962 and became a key part of its history.

Pulver will play Yelena, the young and beautiful second wife of Professor Serebryakov, Vanya's brother-in-law. When the Professor announces his plan to sell the family's estate, Vanya and his niece Sonya are faced with an uncertain future and Vanya is provoked into a shocking act of violence.
