Opening: Donmar Officer, Singin' in the Rain & WOS AwardsDate: 13 February 2012Amongst the major London openings, in the West End and further afield, this week are: OPENING TUESDAY Horrible Histories - Barmy Britain Singin' in the Rain 15 FEBRUARY 2012  (PREVIEWS FROM 4 FEBRUARY) Following a sell-out summer in Chichester, Singin’ in the Rain, adapted from the classic MGM film, transfers to the Palace Theatre starring Adam Cooper and Scarlett Strallen in the roles immortalised by Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. Island Nicky Singer’s new children’s show, about a boy holidaying in the Arctic, opens in the National’s Cottesloe, where it continues to 25 February. A Few Man Fridays (PREVIEWS FROM 10 FEBRUARY) Cardboard Citizens presents their latest production, written and directed by the company's artistic director Adrian Jackson, at Riverside Studios. OPENING THURSDAY A Midsummer Night's Dream 16 FEBRUARY 2012 (PREVIEWS FROM 9 FEBRUARY) Filter mark their tenth anniversary as a company with a new staging of Shakespeare's perennially popular comedy at the Lyric Hammersmith. OPENING FRIDAY Patience 17 FEBRUARY 2012 (PREVIEWS FROM 15 FEBRUARY) Following the Whatsonstage.com Award-winning Pirates of Penzance and Iolanthe, the Union Theatre continues its all-male interpretations of Gilbert & Sullivan classics with Patience. ON SUNDAY Whatsonstage.com Awards Concert 2012 19 FEBRUARY 2012 The winners of the 2012 Whatsonstage.com Awards are announced during a star-studded concert at the West End's Prince of Wales Theatre, hosted by Alan Davies, Jenny Eclair and Sheridan Smith.
