Alex Reid Leads Stripper-Based Play Wildboyz on UK Tour

Date: 27 October 2011

Kickboxer Alex Reid will join Big Brother's Dale Howard, Coronation Street's Danny Young and Hollyoaks actor Marcus Patrick in a UK tour of “Chippendale-style” play Wildboyz next year.

The celebrity foursome will play four mates who attend a bachelor party in Bali, but end up stranded at a cheap Spanish hotel due to a volcanic ash cloud. When real strip group the Wildboyz fail to appear for a hen party at the hotel, the boys must step up to the plate.

According to the official website, the show is "A hysterical tease from the beginning to its spectacular climax, lifting the lid on the world of celebrity, with audience participation, guaranteeing not a dry seat in the house."

Reid, who became widely known when he married Katie Price (aka Jordan) in 2010, said: "Well I will be living in the gym from now until we hit the road, I can't wait to get on tour and perform. What really impressed me with this show is how funny it is and a great opportunity to show off - my acting skills of course. It should be a great laugh."

Young added: "I really enjoy the buzz of a live audience and the hysteria we lads will generate on stage. No space for stage fright or nerves, just pure enjoyment."

Wildboyz will begin touring at Stevenage's Gordon Craig Theatre on 24 April 2012, subsequently visiting venues including Bradford, Leicester, Skegness, Colchester, Plymouth, Newcastle and Margate.

I saw this last night in Shrewsbury. I went with my mum, sister, daughter and my neice. We all belly roared all evening. It was one of the most funniest shows we have ever seen. 'Maureen' was extremely funny with her rude jokes. Well recommended for a girl's night out although I did notice a few were with their husbands. Fabulous - well done boys. I would like to know how many times Dale actually said "Oh f...... hell" Brilliant!! :) - Lorraine Goodsell

Phew! What a relief. For one minute I thought the show was going to be a tawdry rip-off of 'The Full Monty', but reading your puff, I see how completely wrong I was to even think such a thing. - Richard Voyce
