Private Lives arrives in Oldham and Manchester

Date: 6 January 2011

Noel Coward's classic play, Private Lives last seen at the Library Theatre a couple of years ago is now set to hit the region again in two different productions at Oldham's Coliseum later this month and at Manchester's Royal Exchange in February.

The plot follows affluent, alluring and hedonistic divorcees Elyot Chase and Amanda Prynne accidentally arrive at the same French hotel to honeymoon with their respective new partners. After five years of separation they meet by chance and their insatiable feelings for each other are immediately reignited.

Headstrong, reckless and with a disregard for everyone else around them, Elyot and Amanda find that the old bond between them cannot be ignored, but will their volatile relationship run smoothly this time?

Private Lives runs at Oldham's Coliseum Theatre from 27 January - 19 February and is directed by Robin Herford.

Meanwhile, Michael Buffong's production at the Royal Exchange runs from 23 February - 9 April and features Imogen Stubbs, Joanna Page, Simon Robson and Clive Hayward in the cast.
