Bailey's Dandelion Follows Avenue at Wyndham's
Date: 20 September 2010

Comedian – and classically trained musician – Bill Bailey will return to the West End in this winter with his new show Dandelion Mind, which will run from 9 November to 7 December 2010 (previews from 2 November) at Wyndham’s Theatre, following the closure of Avenue Q.

Combining Bailey’s trademark musical interludes (employing both modern and ancient instruments), observations, rants about celebrity and personal anecdotes, Dandelion Mind, which has a limited stint this month at Leicester Square Theatre, is based loosely on the theme of doubt.

Amongst the topics covered are: being trapped by the volcanic ash cloud, creationism, Michael Winner, punk heroes and Iranian hip-hop. The show also features Bailey singing an internet love song and playing a new French disco re-working of Gary Numan’s hit “Cars”.

Bailey has previously been seen in the West End with Tinselworm, which ran at the Gielgud in 2008, and Part Troll, at the Apollo in 2004. In 2007, he made his West End acting debut in Pinter’s People, a collection of Harold Pinter sketches, at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The British Comedy Award winner is also familiar to TV fans for Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Black Books.

Currently at Wyndham’s, award-winning Broadway adult puppet musical Avenue Q finishes on 30 October 2010, after more than four years and three homes in the West End, having received its UK premiere in June 2006.
