Plays Cast: Bartlett Love, Full Hay Fever & Goes

Casting has been announced for the forthcoming world premiere of Mike Bartlett’s new play Love, Love, Love, a co-production between Paines Plough and the Drum Theatre Plymouth where it opens next month (12 October 2010, previews from 7 October).

Directed by new Paines Plough co-artistic director James Grieve, the company features Daniela Denby-Ashe (My Family), John Heffernan (After the Dance, The Habit of Art), Simon Darwen (Mad Forest), James Barrett (2nd May 1997) and Rosie Wyatt (Bunny).

Mike Bartlett’s play Cock won the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre in 2010. His other credits include Artefacts, Not Talking and Earthquakes In London, which was co-produced with Headlong at the National Theatre last month.

According to press material, Love, Love, Love “takes on the baby boomer generation as it retires, and finds it full of trouble. Smoking, drinking, ambitious and paranoid, one couple’s 40-year journey from initial burst to full bloom.”

It runs in Plymouth until 23 October, before touring to Manchester Royal Exchange (26 October-6 November) and Bath Theatre Royal (9-20 November).

Full casting has been announced for the Rose Theatre Kingston's forthcoming revival of Noel Coward's Hay Fever, which runs from 28 September to 23 October 2010 (previews from 23 September).

Joining the previously announced Celia Imrie and Alexandra Gilbreath are: Stephen Boxer, Alexandra Gilbreath, Holly Jones, Adrian Lukis, Georgia Maguire, Joshua McGuire, Katy Secombe and Sam Swainsbury.

Imrie will play Judith Bliss until 9 October, when fellow Olivier Award-winner Nichola McAuliffe will take over the role (from 11 October) until the end of the run.

The production will be the Rose Theatre’s ninth home-grown production since it opened in January 2008 and will be directed by the venue's artistic director Stephen Unwin.

The King's Head Theatre revival of Neil LaBute's This Is How It Goes, which opened this week (8 September 2010, previews from 7 September), features a cast of Okezie Morro, Gemma Atkinson and Tom Greaves.

Former Hollyoaks star Atkinson was recently in the West End run of Calendar Girls, while Morro's recent credits include Ruined at the Almeida and Innocence at the Arcola. Tom Greaves was in Romeo and Juliet and Henry V at the Southwark Playhouse earlier this year.

This Is How It Goes is about a young man (Greaves) who moves in with married couple Cody and Belinda Phipps (Morro and Atkinson), both of whom were in his class at school. The new housemate's presence in the couple's seemingly stable family life exposes deep uncomfortable truths about all three of them.

Neil LaBute’s work includes In The Company of Men, The Shape of Things and Fat Pig, which was seen at Trafalgar Studios in 2008. His new play Break of Noon will be presented by the MCC Theatre Manhattan with David Duchovny and Amanda Peet at the end of October.

This Is How It Goes is directed by Seb Billings and continues to 3 October 2010.
