The evening’s entertainment comprised performances from many of this year’s nominated musicals: “All the Wasted Time/ The Old Red Hills of Home” from Parade (led by Lara Pulver and Bertie Carvel); “Do You Love Me?” from Fiddler on the Roof (Henry Goodman and Beverley Klein); “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from Hairspray (led by Leanne Jones, Ben James-Ellis, Elinor Collett and Adrian Hansel); “Suddenly Seymour” from Little Shop of Horrors (Sheridan Smith and Paul Keating); “Papageno’s Aria” and “The Sun Has Risen” from The Magic Flute (the full cast); and “Song of Hope” from The Lord of the Rings (Rosalie Craig).

A special section, in honour of Special Award recipient Andrew Lloyd Webber, comprised songs from three of the composers musicals, sung by his recent discoveries Connie Fisher (“Take That Look Off Your Face” from Tell Me on a Sunday), Lee Mead (“Close Every Door to Me”, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and Elena Roger (“As If We Never Said Goodbye”, Sunset Boulevard).
