Town Trio Perform Prince of Wales Concert, 12 May

Date: 7 April 2005

As previously tipped (See The Goss, 23 Mar 2005), Adam Garcia, Tim Howar (pictured together) and Aaron Lazar – currently starring as the three sailors with 24 hours’ shore leave in On the Town - will join forces again in concert for one night only at the Prince of Wales Theatre on Thursday 12 May 2005.

The concert is part of a series of late-night entertainments in the theatre’s Delfont Room bar. Similar to the first concert in the series – in which two-time Olivier winner Joanna Riding teamed up with The Woman in White’s Martin Crewes in February – doors re-open at 10.30pm, with the concert starting at 11.00pm, after the evening performance of Mamma Mia!. The venue has secured a license to serve alcohol beyond 11.00pm and will remain open until 1.00am.

Garcia, who plays Chip in On the Town, is best known to London theatregoers for creating the role of Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever. The Australian has also been seen in the West End in Grease, Birdy and Hot Shoe Shuffle. His film credits include Coyote Ugly and Riding in Cars with Boys.

Canadian Howar, who plays sailor Ozzie, has previously starred in the West End productions of Peggy Sue Got Married and Tonight’s the Night. American Lazar, who makes his London stage debut playing Gabey in On the Town, has appeared on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera, Harmonty and Oklahoma!.

As with the Riding/Crewes concert, the theme for the men’s evening at the Prince of Wales will once again be “Old, New, Borrowed, Blue”. There is limited seating available for £25 and £28. General admission cost £15.
