Full List of 2004 Olivier Winners Now Announced!

Winners of the 28th annual Laurence Olivier Awards, London's equivalent of the Tonys and the UK's most prestigious stage awards, have just been announced at a star-studded dinner ceremony hosted by Clive Anderson at the London Hilton. This year's awards, run by the Society of London Theatre (SOLT), are sponsored by the hotel group Hilton UK and Ireland.

Below, we've detailed the winners, as denoted in bold in all of the awards categories, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical, Best New Musical, Outstanding Musical Production, Best New Play, Best Comedy and Best Director.

Amongst the highlights announced are a Best Actor award for a very emotional Matthew Kelly for Of Mice And Men and an award for Outstanding Achievement, presented to Judi Dench by her friend Kevin Spacey.  David Bedella was named Best Actor In A Musical for Jerry Springer The Opera and Maria Friedman won the Best Actress In A Musical category for Ragtime. The night's final awards for Best New Play and Best New Musical went to The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh and Jerry Springer The Opera by Stewart Lee and Richard Thomas.
