2004 Laurence Olivier Nominees Announced Today
Date: 15 January 2004

Nominations for this year's Laurence Olivier Awards, London's equivalent of the Tonys and the UK's most prestigious stage awards, are due to be announced this morning. The full list of nominations - who and what are up for which of the 20-plus categories, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best New Musical and Outstanding Musical Production as well as new fields including Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre and other categories – is below, with further analysis posted separately (See Today's Other News).

Winners of the 28th annual Laurence Olivier Awards will be announced on Sunday, 22 February 2004 in a star-studded ceremony held at the London Hilton. This year's awards are sponsored once again by hotel group Hilton UK and Ireland.

Ahead of the Oliviers, Whatsonstage.com’s own Theatregoers’ Choice Awards will be announced on Tuesday, 3 February 2003, at the same time as the annual Critics’ Circle Awards. The Theatregoers’ Choice Awards are the only London theatre awards in which the audience is the ultimate judge across all 23 categories. Voting closes on 31 January 2003. (Click here to vote!)
