Campbell's Kids Comedy Show Spends Xmas at Arts

Campbell's Kids Comedy Show Spends Xmas at Arts

Date: 10 December 2003

Following success at the West End's Criterion Theatre, James Campbell (pictured) - billed as "probably the only stand-up comedian for children in the universe" - will transfer to the Arts Theatre for a limited Christmas season (See News, 17 Oct 2003).

Campbell's Comedy 4 Kids opens at the Arts on 13 December 2003 and continues every Saturday at noon until 10 January 2004. Extra Christmas shows will be staged on 22, 23, 29, 30 December and 2 January at 2.00pm and 4.00pm.

Comedy 4 Kids covers everything from animals, history, fire drills and Christmas, intertwining them with anecdotes from Campbell's surreal world. Without recourse to red noses, magic tricks or patronising his audience, Campbell blends his stories and observations, with genuine improvisation, faked improvisation and audience interaction as well as some extremely silly songs.

Campbell has been performing his children's stand-up since 1996, visiting nearly 1,000 primary schools throughout the UK to date. His show has been a sell-out at the Edinburgh Fringe for the past two years, and he's currently working with Graham Norton's So Television company to take it to the screen.

Comedy 4 Kids is produced in London by e.v.a. in association with Fiery Angel and Mark Goucher Ltd.
