Little Leads Taboo Tour, Wilkes Slicks up for Grease

Jonathan Wilkes and Hayley Evetts will be donning leathers to join the UK tour of Grease. The pair will star as Danny and Sandy, the parts epitomised by John Travolta and Olivia Newton John in the 1977 film version.

Wilkes and Evett will open at Manchester's Palace Theatre for a limited season from 17 December 2003. Wilkes was recently seen in the 30th anniversary tour of The Rocky Horror Show which enjoyed a stint at the West End's Queen's Theatre. His other credits include Godspell. Evett found the limelight thanks to TV reality show Pop Idol since when she has presented Cruel Summer for Trouble TV.

Meanwhile in other touring news Mark Little will open at the Lowry in Salford for five weeks from 11 December 2003 as Leigh Bowery in Taboo. The Boy George musical that has wowed audiences on both sides of the Atlantic will then continue on a nationwide tour.

Little played the part of Bowery during the London run of Taboo at The Venue last year. The ex-Neighbours star who also hosted the Big Breakfast stage credits include Defending the Caveman, which became the longest running one-man show in the West End in the 1990s.

During the tour, Little will play Bowery from Manchester to Northampton, with the part then taken over by another West End Bowery, comedian Julian Clary, from Brighton to Sheffield. For a full tour schedule see listings
