Aida Celebrate One Last West End Flutter, 11 Nov

As previously tipped (See News, 27 Mar 2003), renowned all-girl comedy singing trio Fascinating Aida will play the West End for a final season this autumn. At the end of their current countrywide tour, the group will bring its 20th anniversary - and last-ever - show, One Last Flutter, to London for a limited four-week season at the Comedy Theatre, opening on 12 November 2003 (preview 11 November)

Self-described as "a cross between Jacques Brel and the Andrews Sisters", Fascinating Aida are one of the UK's top theatre cabaret acts, garnering a host of awards and two Olivier Award nominations for previous West End engagements.

Singing self-penned comic songs on love and sex - something the women claim to have much experience of - as well as other wide-ranging subjects such as the delights of Little Chef restaurants and 101 useful things you can do with a pair of tights, each number aims to reflect "the age we're in and the age we're at".

One Last Flutter has been specially updated for 2003. The show reunites company co-founders Adele Anderson, Marilyn Cutts and Dillie Keane. Over the years, other members have included Issy Van Randwyck, Lizzie Richardson, Denise Wharmby and Glenda Smith.

Joining the women in the company is musician Russell Churney. One Last Flutter is directed by Christopher Luscombe, with lighting designed by Douglas Kuhrt. It's presented by Edward Snape for Fiery Angel.

Fascinating Aida's One Last Flutter tour launched at The Lowry on 8 June 2003 and continues until the West End date. The show is expected to transfer to Broadway in spring 2004. Currently at the Comedy Theatre, Edward Hall's all-male Propeller Theatre production of A Midsummer Night's Dream is due to complete its extended season on 8 November 2003.
