Pop Idol Inspires Muse in Premiere at Old Red LionDate: 28 March 2002Just weeks after warbler William Young was announced the overall winner, TV's Pop Idol has already spawned a theatrical spin-off. In Have I Got Muse for You, which premieres next week at London's fringe Old Red Lion Theatre, one of the play's central characters, Petra, is determined to be a Pop Idol contestant. Meanwhile, Edmond sits at home searching for inspiration on the Internet and Tim works in the City where he's got bigger fish to fry. Iain Regnier-Wilson's dark comedy explores the unpleasant truths behind modern "wannabe" culture, asking what we want, why we want it and how it affects those around us. Directed by Andrew Neil and designed by Ken McClymont, Have I Got Muse for You's cast are Charlotte Atkinson, Eleanor Caird, Graham Dalton and Robert J Francis. The play is presented by Cock a Snook Theatre Company and produced by Richard Herbert. Have I Got Muse for You runs at the Old Red Lion from 2 to 20 April 2002. - by Terri Paddock Related Content |
