Theatres Darken for Diana's Funeral

Many theatres across the country have cancelled matinee and / or evening performances for this Saturday, 6 September, the day of the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales. In many cases, openings and press nights have also been postponed. The move is a display of mourning, but for West End theatres it's also likely to be a necessity. Millions of people are expected to pour in to central London on Saturday to witness the funeral procession, making 'business as usual' virtually impossible. Theatre-goers are advised to check with box offices for schedule and refund details.
