Heads Roll at Royal Opera HouseDate: 27 February 1998Two directors have been sacked from senior management at the Royal Opera House - finance director Richard Hall and director of sales and and broadcasting Keith Cooper. Hall has been with the ROH only eight months. Cooper, who joined in 1992, leapt to public notoriety in the BBC fly-on-the-wall documentary The House in which he savagely dismissed a colleague who, in Cooper's opinion, didn't have 'the intelligence to deliver what we need.' The sackings are the first evidence of an internal management reshuffle called for in a highly critical parliamentary report on the ROH published in November. There are rumours that they won't be the last. Related Content |
