Sheena Easton to make West End debut in 42nd Street

Full casting for the musical at Theatre Royal Dury Lane has also been announced

Grammy Award-winning singer Sheena Easton is to make her West End debut next year in 42nd Street.

Best known for her songs "9 to 5" and "We've Got Tonight", Easton will play Dorothy Brock, a Broadway star who suffers an ankle injury on opening night.

Clare Halse (Gypsy) will play Peggy Sawyer who is picked to replace the injured Brock in the fictional show Pretty Lady, and Tom Lister (Calamity Jane) will play director Julian Marsh.

The musical, which will be directed by Mark Bramble, includes the songs "We're in the Money", "Lullaby of Broadway" and "Dames".

The cast also includes Jasna Ivir, Stuart Neal, Norman Bowman, Graeme Henderson, Christopher Howell, Mark McKerracher, Emma Caffrey and Bruce Montague.
