John Owen-Jones will play Pirelli in the upcoming production of Sweeney Todd at the London Coliseum starring Emma Thompson and Bryn Terfel.

Owen-Jones, who has theatre credits including Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera, is returning to the West End for the first time since 2011.

He joins Thompson and Terfel, who are reprising their performances in Lonny Price's production which first ran at New York's Lincoln Center last year, and Philip Quast, who plays Judge Turpin.

Set in Victorian London, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street tells the story of the eponymous barber who seeks vengeance on what he sees as a merciless world by murdering his customers and, with the help of his landlady, the romantically inclined Mrs. Lovett, bakes their bodies into meat pies.

Sondheim's score includes "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd," "Not While I'm Around," "A Little Priest," and "Pretty Women."

Sweeney Todd runs at the London Coliseum for a limited run from 30 March to 12 April 2015
