Edward Albee’s play will open in February 2017
Imelda Staunton and Conleth Hill will star in a new production of Edward Albee’s play, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Directed by James Macdonald (The Father), the production will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 22 February to 27 May.
Albee's play takes place in the early hours of the morning on the campus of an American college. Martha invites new professor Nick and his wife Honey round for after-hours drinks, much to her husband George’s displeasure.
Following her Olivier Award-winning performance in Gypsy at the Savoy, Staunton will play Martha alongside Game of Thrones star Hill as George.
Further casting to be announced.
Playwright Edward Albee passed away last week at the age of 88.
