Harry Potter will announce new booking period after ticket tout surge

A new booking period for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been announced following a surge in ticket touting for the production.
Sixty people have been turned away from the show for presenting invalid tickets.
The Palace Theatre are refusing to admit anyone who presents a ticket that has been resold.
Tickets have been reported to sell for over £6,000, and a quick search will find tickets for tonight's performance selling for £600 – around 30 times its original value.
Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender said: "The secondary-ticket market is an industry-wide plague, and one which we as producers take very seriously. Our priority is to protect all our customers and are doing all we can to combat this issue.
"We have already been able to identify, and refuse entry to a significant number of people who purchased tickets through resale sites and will continue to track down touts and refuse entry to anyone who has knowingly bought a ticket from a tout through the secondary market."
The new booking period will be announced later this year for performances beginning 13 December 2017.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child currently runs at the Palace Theatre until December 2017.
