With most of the country's schools breaking up for summer today, we take a look at some of the theatrical events taking place that allow your children to get involved as well as watch.

1. Dinosaur Zoo

Venue: King's Cross Theatre, London and on tour
Running time: 50 minutes no interval.
Age guidance: 3+
What's it all about?: Dinosaur Zoo brings prehistoric creatures to life as you’ve never seen them before. From baby dinos to teeth-gnashing giants, children can interact with life-like dinosaurs in this live show.

2. Against Captain’s Orders: A Journey into the Uncharted

Venue: National Maritime Museum, Greenwich
Running time: 50 minutes
Age guidance: 6 – 12 years
What's it all about?: National Maritime Museum and Punchdrunk Enrichment present a new show that takes families on an adventure through the museum’s wealth of maritime history and artefacts.

3. Horrible Histories: Barmy Britain Part Three

What's it all about?: Barmy Britain is back with the third instalment in the series featuring new characters and rude new rulers from Britain's past!

4. Captain Showoff!

Venue: The Scoop, London

What's it all about?: This family show, part of the free More London festival at the Scoop, invites you to the bustling Roman town that is the home of self-proclaimed war hero Captain Show-Off. But, if he thinks everyone will join his fan club he's in for a shock.

5. Adventures in Wonderland

What's it all about?: Les Petits Invite you to fall down the rabbit hole in a magical theatrical event. Alice is missing in Wonderland, and it’s up to you to find her. Tumble with the Tweedle twins; follow the White Rabbit and take Tea with the Hatter and the Maddest Tea Party!

6. The Comedy Of Errors
