Casting announced for Guys and Dolls West End extension

Sophie Thompson, Jamie Parker and David Haig will not move with the show to the Phoenix next month

New leads have been announced for the extension of Guys and Dolls, which moves from the Savoy to the Phoenix Theatre from 19 March 2016.

Multiple Olivier Award-winning actress Samantha Spiro (Hello Dolly) will play Miss Adelaide, with Richard Kind (Inside Out, Spin City) as Nathan Detroit and Oliver Tompsett (Wicked) as Sky Masterson.

Siubhan Harrison will continue as Sarah Brown, as will Gavin Spokes as Nicely Nicely Johnson.

Completing the new cast at the Phoenix are Billy Boyle as Arvide and Jason Pennycooke as Benny.

The rest of the cast that transfer from the Savoy Theatre are: Lucy Jane Adcock, Abigail Brodie, Cornelius Clarke, Momar Diagne, Lavinia Fitzpatrick, Lorna Gale, Nic Greenshields, Selina Hamilton, Frankie Jenna, Alec Mann, Jacob Maynard, Genevieve Nicole, William Oxborrow, Max Parker, Carl Patrick, James Revell, Giovanni Spano, Jonathan Stewart, Lucie Mae Sumner and Liam Wrate.

The production, directed by Gordon Greenberg, tours from 16 March across the UK at the same time as the extended West End run which is currently booking at the Phoenix Theatre until October 2016.

Guys and Dolls is Frank Loesser, Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows' musical based on the stories and characters of Damon Runyon. It follows the tales of gangsters in New York and the love story between a gambling man and a Salvation Army woman and features songs such as "Luck Be a Lady" and "Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat".

The UK tour, which features a completely new cast, will open at the Liverpool Empire on 16 March 2016, before touring to Newcastle, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Dublin, Norwich, Southampton, Leeds, Plymouth, Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Canterbury, Cardiff, Bristol, Wolverhampton and Woking.
