Laurence Fox, Jack Huston and Imogen Stubbs star in Strangers on a Train at Gielgud this November

The ”Lewis” actor will star in Craig Warner’s adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1950 thriller, alongside Jack Huston, Miranda Raison and Imogen Stubbs

As previously rumoured, Laurence Fox and Jack Huston are set to star in an adaptation of thriller Strangers on a Train at the Gielgud Theatre later this year, which will run from 2 November 2013.

Adapted from Patricia Highsmith's 1950 thriller, Strangers On A Train was famously adapted for film by auteur director Alfred Hitchcock, starring Farley Granger and Robert Walker as the titular strangers who meet on a train and plot to 'swap' murders.

The production, which is directed by Robert Allan Ackerman, also features in the cast Imogen Stubbs, Miranda Raison, Christian McKay and MyAnna Buring.

Laurence Fox and Jack Huston last appeared in the West End together in 2002 in Mrs Warren’s Profession at the Strand Theatre. Laurence Fox‘s other stage credits include Our Boys (Duchess) and Treats (Garrick). On television he is best known as DS James Hathaway in Lewis. Jack Huston is best known for his role in Boardwalk Empire, and his other credits include The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Factory Girl.

Christian McKay's stage credits include Rosebud: The Lives of Orson Welles, whilst film roles include Rush and Me and Orson Welles. Miranda Raison‘s previous theatre work includes The River (Royal Court), The Physicists (Donmar Warehouse) and Anne Boleyn (Globe).

Imogen Stubbs has appeared in over 40 plays in the West End and with the RSC and the National Theatre. She played the eponymous role of Anna Lee in the television series and her films have included Twelfth Night or What You Will and Sense and Sensibility. MyAnna Buring‘s recent television credits include Ripper Street and Downton Abbey.

The production is adapted by Craig Warner, with designs from Tim Goodchild and lighting by Tim Lutkin, and is produced by Barbara Broccoli.
