With our deerstalker on and pipe in hand, we've done some detective work which suggests Sherlock star Louise Brealey will lead the upcoming tour of Nick Payne's Constellations, which opens in Woking on 14 May.

Brealey tweeted this morning about starting rehearsals for a play in a month, to which someone who works at the Royal Court – whose production it is – replied #bringonwoking:

The two-hander, which originally starred Rafe Spall and Sally Hawkins, "raises questions about the difference between choice and destiny", and touches on multiverse theory, love and honey.

As well as Sherlock, in which she plays pathologist Molly Hooper, Louise Brealey has screen credits including Ripper Street and Casualty. Her stage work includes Miss Julie (Citizens Theatre), The Herd (Bush Theatre) and The Trojan Women (Gate Theatre), and she is also a playwright, having written Pope Joan for the National Youth Theatre.

The tour will open at Woking's New Victoria Theatre on 14 May 2015, before touring to Liverpool Playhouse (19-23 May), Bristol Old Vic (27-30 May), Nuffield Theatre Southampton (2-6 June), The Lowry Salford (9-13 June), Cambridge Arts Theatre (16-20 June), Richmond Theatre (23-27 June) and Theatre Royal Brighton (30 June to 4 July).
