  • Matilda As Les Mis marches into its 25th year in the West End, the RSC are hoping for another classic to be born in the shape of Roald Dahl’s children’s novel, Matilda. Loved by generations of readers young and old, the book has been adapted by Dennis Kelly with songs by composer and comedian Tim Minchin, in this hilarious new version from the Royal Shakespeare Company. Opening in Stratford in November ahead of a much touted London transfer – we’ve already been warned, the children are revolting…

  • Sunshine on Leith Sunshine on Leith is a large cast extravaganza with live music and a string of the Edinburgh-born twin’s favourite hits like “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”, “I’m on My Way”, “Letter from America” and lots more. With all promotional material convinced this isn’t just for fans of The Proclaimers but for anyone who just loves a good night out, this could well be the new the hot touring ticket of 2010.

  • 25 years later… and Les Miserables is still going strong, if not stronger than ever as the new touring production returns to the Barbican, the current west end stint carries on with a host of fresh stars in the lead roles and then both casts will join forces for a phenomenal anniversary concert performance at London’s O2. Phew! And to match the typically dramatic occasion is a suitably drama filled video trailer for the O2 concert as well as footage from the brand new 25th Anniversary touring production and the latest clips from the cast playing at the Queen’s theatre. N.B. Les Mis has yet to feature in my video selections, and is unlikely to in the future so permit me one fortnight of indulgence – on their behalf, you understand. Think of it as a (rather easy) game of spot the difference. Giant red flags at the ready…
