WOS Launches Dedicated Section for Opera Lovers

In line with our continuing expansion of UK theatre coverage, Whatsonstage.com is pleased to announce its new dedicated opera section – www.whatsonstage.com/opera.
Edited by Simon Thomas, formerly of online culture magazine musicOMH.com, the new section provides news, reviews and features from the world of opera, as well as linking to the comprehensive and continually updated Whatsonstage.com listings database.

Recent reviews include ENO’s production of John Adams’ Doctor Atomic, Bryn Terfel’s return to the Royal Opera House in Der fliegende Höllander and Haydn’s La fedelta premiata at the Royal Academy of Music. There is also a guide to the London opera scene, and review round-ups of the major openings.

Speaking about the launch, Simon Thomas said: “Opera is one of the most exciting theatrical and musical forms there is and London is teeming with great work. With a passion for opera from its earliest days right up to the present moment, Whatsonstage.com Opera will be covering all the major stories and productions.”

Whatsonstage.com also runs a network of regional microsites, as well as a dedicated Off-West End site (See News, 10 Jun 2008). The aim of these sites is to provide targeted, in-depth coverage for theatregoers in regions including the Manchester, Scotland and the North East, as an adjunct to listings, venue and other information already available on the main site.
