Plays extend: Curious Incident & Paper Dolls

The West End transfer of the National Theatre’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time has extended booking at the Apollo Theatre until 4 January 2014.

The show, which recently Whatsonstage.com Award for Best New Play as well as the 2013 South Bank Sky Arts Award for Theatre, has moved to the West End following a sell-out run at the NT Cottesloe last year. Adapted by Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon‘s award-winning book, it follows 15 year-old Christopher Boone, a maths genius with behavioural problems.

Luke Treadaway is reprising his role as Christopher Boone, with Johnny Gibbon playing the part on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Directed by Marianne Elliott, the cast also includes Niamh Cusack, Holly Aird, Sean Gleeson and Nick Sidi.

Casting from September will be announced in due course.

The Tricycle Theatre’s production of Paper Dolls has extended its run by two weeks, now playing until 28 April.

Telling the true story of a group of Filipino immigrants in Israel who work six days as carers for elderly Orthodox Jewish men, on the seventh day transforming into a musical drag act, Paper Dolls marks Indhu Rubasingham‘s second production as artistic director.

Cast includes Harry Dickman, Caroline Wildi, Tom Berish, Ron Domingo, Francis Jue, Angelo Paragoso, Jon Norman Schneider and Benjamin Wong.
