Photos: Barnett & Parker Reunited at Haymarket

Tom Stoppard‘s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead opened at the Theatre Royal Haymarket this week (21 June 2011, previews from 16 June), following a three-week run at the Chichester Festival Theatre.

The latest instalment in Trevor Nunn‘s year-long residency at the Haymarket, the play reunites History Boys co-stars Samuel Barnett and Jamie Parker. The production, which plays a limited summer season until 22 August 2011, also star Chris Andrew Mellon as The Player, replacing Tim Curry who withdrew from the show at Chichester because of a chest infection.

Retelling the story of Hamlet from the perspective of two minor characters, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead captures their poignant yet humorous accounts of theatrical life on the outskirts as they aim to comprehend their irrelevant existence.
