The buzz surrounding Oscar-winning film The King’s Speech may appear to have finally died down, but now fresh rumours are swirling of a stage production. As we previously reported, David Seidler, the writer of the surprise 2010 blockbuster, wrote the script as a play before adapting it for the big screen. Now, according to Showbiz411.com, the original production will finally premiere at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre for a “three to five week engagement in January”, before transferring to the West End in March and Broadway later in 2012. Casting director Gabrielle Dawes is said to be hunting for an actor to take Colin Firth’s crown as George VI.
