Jackie Mason Makes Fearless Final West End Appearance

Veteran American comic Jackie Mason will make his “last appearance on the London stage” next year when his new show Fearless! comes to Wyndham’s Theatre for a five-week season from 13 February 2012, according to the Daily Mail.

Mason rose to fame in the 1960s thanks to regular spots on The Ed Sullivan Show, but fell from grace when he allegedly gave the host ‘the finger’ during a live broadcast.

His career eventually recovered thanks to his solo shows, including The World According to Me, which won a Tony Award when it transferred to Broadway in the mid 1980s.

Subsequent shows have included Jackie Mason: Brand New, Love Thy Neighbor, Much Ado about Everything A Night at the Opera (at the Royal Opera House) and The Ultimate Jew.

Currently at Wyndham’s, Driving Miss Daisy runs until 17 December, when it will be followed by Christmas with the Rat Pack, which opens 20 December.
