Full List & Photos: 2012 Olivier Awards nominations
The nominations have been announced for the 2012 Olivier Awards, with Matilda the Musical getting nods in all its eligible categories and comedies One Man, Two Guvnors and The Ladykillers receiving five nominations each (click here for further analysis).
The Olivier Awards are the culmination of the theatre awards season, following the Evening Standard, Critics’ Circle and the Whatsonstage.com Awards (in which a record-breaking 70,000 people voted). The nominations were announced today (15 March 2012) in a lunchtime event at the May Fair Hotel, presented by 2011 Olivier Awards Best Actress winner Nancy Carroll and Best Actor Roger Allam.

The Royal Shakespeare Company production of Matilda leads the field with a total of ten nominations, including Best Actress for all four young actresses who play the title role (who were also nominated at the recent Whatsonstage.com Awards).
Amongst other musical theatre productions Ghost The Musical at the Piccadilly and the National Theatre’s London Road, both winners at the Whatsonstage.com Awards, have five and four nominations respectively.
