Chocolate Factory stages Graham Greene’s Travels with my Aunt

Ahead of its summer production of The Color Purple, the Menier Chocolate Factory will stage a new production of Graham Greene’s Travels with my Aunt, adapted by Giles Havergal.

Running from 2 May to 29 June 2013, Travels with my Aunt will be directed by Christopher Luscombe (Spamalot, The Madness of George III).

Performed by four actors playing a host of characters, the anarchic comedy tells the story of retired bank manager Henry Pulling and his globetrotting adventures with his Aunt Augusta. From Brighton to Istanbul to Paraguay, the unlikely pair journey together discovering colourful characters and the possibilities that life conjures up in the most unusual of places.

Travels with my Aunt is designed by Colin Falconer, with lighting by Oliver Fenwick and sound by Gregory Clarke. Casting details will be announced soon.

Tickets go on sale to general public 20 March. Currently at the Chocolate Factory, Polly Findlay‘s revival of David Auburn‘s Proof begins previews this week (14 March) and runs until 27 April 2013.
