Billy Elliot extends to December 2015

The announcement comes on the day that new Billy Ollie Jochim joins the cast

Billy Elliot has extended booking to December 2015, with over 375,000 tickets going onsale today. Tonight also sees 12-year-old Ollie Jochim joining the production as a new Billy, making him the 38th boy to undertake the role in the UK.

Jochim said: "A couple of years ago my mum took me to see Billy Elliot the Musical and when I saw it I knew I wanted to be Billy" and now he is living his dream, alongside Ruthie Henshall as his ballet teacher, Mrs Wilkinson.

The musical, based on the 2000 film, is set to celebrate its 10th birthday next summer with a special one-off performance at its current home the Victoria Palace Theatre to be streamed live to cinemas across the world in September.

So far, Billy Elliot – The Musical has been seen by over 9.5 million worldwide and Jochim becomes the 75th boy to play the title role internationally. The book and lyrics are by Lee Hall with music by Elton John.
