Casting announced for RSC's Twelfth Night

Adrian Edmondson and Kara Tointon will star in Christopher Luscombe’s production

Casting has been announced for the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Twelfth Night, which opens in Stratford-upon-Avon in November.

Adrian Edmondson, known for his TV work in Bottom and Blackadder, will play Malvolio and Kara Tointon, who played Rosalie Selfridge in ITV’s Mr Selfridge, will play Olivia.

Christopher Luscombe directs the cast which also includes Dinita Gohil (Viola), John Hodgkinson (Sir Toby Belch), Vivien Parry (Maria), Esh Alladi (Sebastian), Nicholas Bishop (Orsino), Michael Cochrane (Sir Andrew Aguecheek), Beruce Khan (Feste), Verity Kirk (Parlour Maid), Joseph Prowen (Footman) and Sarah Twomey (Fabia).

Full casting is yet to be announced.

The production will have designs by Simon Higlett with lighting by Tim Mitchell and music by Nigel Hess.

Twelfth Night runs at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre from 9 November 2017 to 24 February 2018, with preview from 2 November.
