Maliphant is renowned for distinctive marriages of movement, light and music.
The evening features newly created duets, trios and solos danced by Maliphant himself alongside his remarkable company of dancers including Dickson Mbi, who recently stunned audiences with his strength and unique popping style in The Rodin Project, the dance film Erebus and the Lucozade Revive commercial. He is joined by Carys Staton, whose energetic elegance and delicate strength are showcased in the new creations, and Thomasin Gulge?, whose fluid agility and grace are also demonstrated in the Critics' Circle National Dance Award-winning Afterlight (Part One), which is included as part of the evening. There is a diverse physical language across the pieces, integrating qualities and vocabulary from contemporary dance, ballet, and martial arts. The evening includes musical compositions from Eric Satie, Andy Cowton and new music by Armand Amar.
