About This Show

A play about family, love, and female-solidarity immersed in black culture in London, 2019. Mary Johnson runs a family-owned salon, and on the day of it’s closure, Mary looks back to all the significant protesting and changes the salon has seen. The Brixton hair salon is safe and intimate, and communities can come together for a hair cut or deep, meaningful conversation. With music bringing fun, joy, and energy, we watch as people come and go in the family-run salon, sharing their moments in history.
