“We get called criminals, but it’s never called survival; reprisal if you touch my disciple, fam – it’s a vicious cycle.” Daniel is from the block, or, as it is known from the outside – the hood. A place where you can dream… and a place where you can lose your best friend to the streets. Daniel is doing everything within his power to leave the hood behind but soon learns that things aren’t always that simple. A night of hard-hitting storytelling told through rap, poetry and prose about growing up black in the jungle – or, as we know it, the hood.
