A Prayer for Wings

Set in a derelict church in Swansea – the home of a wheelchair bound mam and her daughter/nurse Rita. the claustrophobia and intensity of Rita’s entrapment in the face of her mother’s bitter disillusionment and Welsh Puritanism is portrayed with grim realism. The monotony of Rita’s routine is broken by the visit of three gentlemen callers, who are serviced by Rita for a few bob. One of these is a real prospect – and angel from Port Talbot – sent to save her from a life of drudgery.
