Award-winning choreographer Kenneth Tindall marks his hotly-anticipated return to the Company after the smouldering success of 2017’s Casanova. Tindall now presents The Shape of Sound, an abstract work performed to Vivaldi’s iconic The Four Seasons, reimagined by Max Richter. Taking inspiration from the seasons and our human response to each of them, this piece is a stunning new work by one of the most exciting names in dance right now.

Former choreographer in residence of Ballet Ireland, Morgann Runacre-Temple has created exciting new work for some of the top companies in the UK as well as being responsible for the creation of award-winning dance films including Curing Albrecht (English National Ballet/Manchester International Festival). Now she presents her first work for Northern Ballet with The Kingdom of Back, exploring the story of the exceptionally talented Nannerl Mozart growing up in the shadow of her younger brother on his journey to immortality.

An emerging choreographer from within Northern Ballet’s Company of dancers, First Soloist Mlindi Kulashe makes his choreographic debut with Mamela… Meaning ‘listen’ in his native language Xhosa, Mamela… is a haunting exploration of the conflict between the desires of the head and the heart and the impact of society’s influence over an individual.
