About This Show

Nobel prize winner and one of the greatest poets of the twentieth century, Chile’s literary hero, Pablo Neruda, was an adventurous and passionate lover of life. Champion of the working man, journalist, diplomat, senator, lover of nature, women and words, Neruda wrote what he lived and lived as he wrote. The beauty and sensuality of Neruda’s love poetry, the magnificent power of his epic poetry, the celebration of all things ordinary and his fierce passion for social justice, all testify to a deliciously complex life of a man whose body of work remains as relevant and vital today as it ever was. Marking 50 years since Neruda was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, actor David Soul (Starsky & Hutch) leads you on a wondrous journey of discovery through the life and works of this great poet, with music performed by Hugh Burns on guitar and Lizzie Ball on violin.
