Scottish Dance Theatre – Ritualia & The Circle

Ritualia by Berlin-based Scottish choreographer Colette Sadler, re-imagines Igor Stravinsky and Bronislava Nijinska’s 1923 masterpiece Les Noces. Sadler’s interpretation transforms the gender thematics of the original ballet by introducing the idea of androgyny as its point of departure. Evoking and celebrating the notion of hybridity, exploring iconic artificiality, presentation and fashion, RITUALIA is a thought-provoking visual feast. Created by internationally acclaimed choreographer Emanuel Gat, The Circle is a fast-paced, highly physical and visually striking work set to a high-powered music score by electronic jazz guru, Squarepusher.
