A double bill from award-winning Artistic Director Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon, presents the UK premiere of Schubert, an emotionally charged ballet conveying a love story danced to Schubert's String Quintet in C - Adagio. In contrast, vibrant Mexican mambo music drives the iconic Sad Case, a piece that embodies the emotional and visceral dance language of Lightfoot and Leon's unique choreographic style. The UK premiere of mutual comfort by Romanian choreographer, Edward Clug, highlights the dancers' own individual stories with surprising moments of beauty and spontaneous irony. From legendary Dutch choreographer, Hans van Manen's Solo, delivers an extraordinarily fast-paced ballet set to Bach's violin Partita; an athletic tour de force that will take your breath away. For the finale, Alexander Ekman's Cacti bursts onto the stage with an uplifting and joyous party spirit that celebrates the youthful prowess of NDT2's 18 dancers. "Pure pleasure" says the Guardian. "A clever and original crowd-pleaser" says The Telegraph.
